The program will consist of two parts.
First part (Agora building), June 16, 2012
The first part of the summer school consists of two lectures delivered by two top researchers.
The first part is free of charge and the lunch is included.

Optimal Control of Partial Differential Equations
Prof. Dr. Ronald W. Hoppe
Abstract: We consider control and state constrained optimal control problems for sec- ond order
elliptic and parabolic partial differential equations featuring both distributed and
boundary control. The first part of the two lectures is de- voted to the analysis of the
control problems with emphasis on existence and uniqueness results as well as the
derivation of first order necessary optimality conditions. The second part is concerned
with adaptive finite element approx- imations based on a posteriori error estimators
that can be derived by the method of dual weighted residuals.

Second part (Konnevesi), August 2-4, 2012
Transportation to Konnevesi
For those needing the transportation to Konnevesi research station:
We will organize a bus transport on 1.8. (Wednesday) evening approximately 20 pm.
Majority of guests arrive to Jyväskylä during the afternoon by train
or to the local airport. We will pick you up and join all together to some properly
equipped place in the city center to get to know each others and to wait for the bus.
However, those who arrive in a peculiar time, e.g., middle of the night or other day,
need not to be worried either, we will organize a taxi transport from the airport or
the train station directly. Most importantly, as soon as you known your arrival
schedule, please inform Ms. Svetlana Matsulevits to mtsveta@gmail.com
The program consists of 20 min presentations (15 min talk and 5 min discussion)
by young scientists, and 50 min lectures by invited lecturers.
Key-note lectures delivered by leading experts in the area are intended to give an overview
of the main achievements, results, and open questions in the certain parts of applied analysis related to PDEs.
Junior scientists present their results in contributed talks which are discussed in an open and friendly atmosphere.
The event includes informal discussions, as well as sportive and cultural events.
Detailed program of the second part will be available later.
