The laboratory has taken part in the following international research programs:
- ESF (European Scientific Foundation) programme:
Mathematical Treatment of Free Boundary Problems,
period 1993-1997, 18 countries from Europe,
more than 25 research groups and programme
contains about fifty students.
- HCM (Human Capital and Mobility) programmes:
Mathematics as an Industrial Resource, period 1993-1995,
network of six research groups; Control Problems and Applications,
period 1994-1996, network of five research groups.
- INTAS (International Association for the Promotion of
Cooperation with Scientists from the Independent States of the Former
Soviet Union) programme: the universities involved are University of
Jyväskylä, St. Petersburg Technical University, Technical University
of Munich and University of Milan, period 1994-1997.
- ERASMUS (Mathematics and Fundamental Applications)
- Research Exchange Programs
- Domain Decomposition/Fictitious Domain Methods with Applications
to Acoustics and Fluid Dynamics (The Exchange program of the Academy
of Finland and the Russian Academy of Science).
- Numerical Methods for Fluid Flow Simulation
(Exchange program between the Laboratory of Scientific Computing
and the Department of Mathematics and Mechanics, University of
St. Petersburg).
